Donna Karan, clothes made out of blood!!

She is one of the big names in fashion.

Many know her cause of her cloths, and many buy the clothes she designs, good or bad, nice or ugly , thats up to someones taste to judge, and i m not here to say my opinion about her designing capabilities.

What i m doing here is to inform as many people as possible, that Donna Karan uses in her collection fur, and this fur comes from bunnies from Chinese fur farms. Now you might know the wonderfull conditions occuring in a Chinese fur farm . If you dont..you can check one of my older posts, but only if your stomach can handl this.Animals are skinned alive.....so you can only just imagine the pain and the suffer that these poor souls go through. And  Donna Karan seems to  care less about this.I guess she just cares only about making more money? If thats all she cares then stop buying her clothes untill she quits fur of her collction and untill she realizes that buyers have the power and buyers dont want to participate in the pain she causes. In the past she had promised PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals) to take fur out of her collection, but it was just words in the air.

Maybe she dont know, this is called ignorance , something that all human being suffer from, maybe she hasnt seen how these poor animals die, maybe she just dont know, so this is where we come,...to ..inform her, to let her know that too many people dont like what she is doing, that too many people will stop buying her clothes until she quits fur.I am not saying she is the only one, many designers still use fur, but we have to start from somewhere, and Donna gave us the excuse by breaking her promise.

So here they are , some short video of horror and pain, the title says it all : "Ever Heard a Bunny Scream?"

I know, it is Christmass time , and these videos contain scenes of unbearable pain, some will say, "hey it is days of joy, and days of love, put something nice and sweet " but i ll have to say, that this is what is happening right now,we can not close our eyes and pretend its not real, many times truth is shocking, and many times we need a shock to take us out of our oblivion, and anyway, if we are not able to love these animals , how can we love the human being next to us?

Stop buying fur,if u need to wear a fur ,you can wear a synthetic one.You can have a look that kills without killing anything!!

I wish that scenes like these didnt exist, i wish that all this was just a horror scenario, but this is just the ugly truth.

All of us should do whatever we can that these scenes will not be fact of the future.

"Ever Heard a Bunny Scream?"

Donna Karan Dumps Fur!

Donna Karan, the target of one of our campaigns, has announced that her fall 2009 lines will be fur-free and that she has "no plans" to use fur in the future!
(this is the reason these video links dont work)

PETA is now calling on activists and supporters to put the brakes on our "Donna Karan: Bunny Butcher" antics, which have included protesting outside her boutiques, crashing her runway show, and exposing her cruel use of fur online. This is a win for the real fashion victims—animals, who are routinely skinned alive for their pelts—and will allow us all to focus on Armani and other targets while keeping an eye on Donna Karan's 2010 collection.

Karan's announcement came days after PETA launched our (now offline) DonnaKaranBunnyButcher.com Web site and after mega–fashion guru Tim Gunn sent Karan and designer Giorgio Armani a video that he narrated for PETA showing animals skinned alive for their fur and urged them to open their eyes to the violent and bloody fur industry.

While Donna Karan has followed in the footsteps of top designers—including Ralph Lauren, Tommy Hilfiger, and Calvin Klein—Armani still refuses to stop using fur. Armani claims that he "only" uses fur from rabbits who are butchered for meat. We hope that you will take this opportunity to contact Armani to tell him that while the meat of gentle rabbits killed for their fur in China is sold to be eaten, the suffering that they endure is exactly the same. Point out that the cruelty depicted in this video on fur farms in both China and France show animals who are killed for both fur and meat.

The undercover investigations of rabbit fur farms in China and France—two countries from which Armani has bought rabbit fur—revealed pitiful living conditions for rabbits, who are confined to tiny wire cages before they are slaughtered.

In the video footage from the investigation, workers at the Chinese farm pull rabbits out of cages by their ears and shoot the screaming animals in the head with captive-bolt guns, often multiple times. Rabbits with slit throats can be seen twitching and shaking, with their eyes wide open, before they die.

Armani now sells fur, including rabbit-fur coats for babies and children. The new designs mean he has broken the promise he made just last year when he said, "I spoke with the people from PETA, and they showed me some materials that convinced me not to use fur."

It seems that pressure works !!Donna quits fur.If she is going to keep her word?Time will tell ,but we will be here again to make her change her mind.In the meanwhile, Armani still uses fur so ,...Please ,contact Giorgio Armani and urge him to keep the promise that he made by permanently removing all fur from his collections.
